Enjoyed Klara's enchanting childlike (even poetic) voice that slowly reveals a future world where children are "lifted" and whose parents purchase artificial friends for them. With her observant and questioning brain, Klara strives to be the Artificial Friend her companion child needs. Spare and slow-moving but an interesting build to understand the future the author envisions. That future shows gender, race, and societal class continues to separate humans and the robots as well.
