Quite possibly the slowest and most boring disaster film ever made. Mark Kermode of The Observer called it a "first-rate B-picture." I agree with the B-picture part, but can't say I think it's first-rate. By 1 hour into the 2 hour run time, I started fast-forwarding because I wanted to see if the filmmakers had the courage to let their main characters die. I won't give that away, but clearly was bored with the film.

It was theatrically released in June 2020 (during the CV19 theater shutdown).

Excellent. Surprisingly emotional for a Gerard Butler movie. There were a couple of moments when my heart was in my throat. No spoilers, but definitely worth a watch.

Just an ok movie with an overworked plot. It never reaches a crescendo or an 'ahhh' moment. There aren't very many levels of emotion in the film. It felt lackluster and barely moved from the starting point. Good editing, sound, poor script. I did not believe the story really.

Pointless and dumb. I thought the plot was unbelievable, and cliched, as several people have remarked. The acting was C+, at best. I've never enjoyed Gerard Butler's movies; for me, his acting is two-dimensional and shallow. Note to self: next time, trust your gut! (Also, families should note that it is probably NOT a great idea to leave your 8-year old child in charge of their own life-saving medication, while you are trying to outrun a comet that will annihilate most of life on earth).

If you're looking for morally complex choices in an apocalyptic setting, a good episode of "The Walking Dead" would likely be more thought-provoking than this mess, manufactured to (try to) make you sit on the edge of your seat for 2 hours, while trying not to cry. I didn't have to try too hard: usually in a disaster movie, you are cheering for people to survive, but here, I was kind of hoping they would all perish, just so the movie would end faster.

I won't spoil the ending (cheesy and stupid, although I THINK I was supposed to feel hopeful and reassured), but I WILL question how likely it is that a passenger whose fixed-wing aircraft crash-lands in the mountains of Greenland, will walk away from the wreckage unscathed.

Humanity already has so many REAL, huge challenges to its survival, that trying to make us anxious about escaping unavoidable debris and subsequent extinction-level shock-waves from an errant comet feels like insult to the collective intelligence of the viewing audience.

VERDICT: There's no avoiding falling molten lava, but you CAN avoid renting this dud.

Below average movie with a beaten to death plot. Every thing is just average to the cast and the story line and the effects and the acting! You could do a lot worse but you could do a lot better. Nothing special here but if you are in the mood for a good disaster film with action and special effects here ya go!

Not sure if I liked this movie or not. I am on the fence. Seemed to take a long time to get to the point where the movie ended.

Phenomenal movie-Well Done.

The CGI was good. The humanity was sad but true. If you got separated and the world is coming to an end you’re not going to find each other. If you have type 1 diabetes you’re not surviving without meds. The U.S. has their own bunkers.
