Explore the magical world of Fungi !

This presentation will focus on fungi that can be found in Marin and Sonoma Counties:
When and where to find them,tree types to familiarize yourself with, edible mushrooms,
poisonous mushrooms, mushroom stories, how to get involved in the local
mycology community, resources to utilize, and more. 

Presenter Bio: David Healy is a middle school science teacher and mycology enthusiast.
He grew up in Sonoma County. David graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a
degree in Environmental Studies. He has worked as a farmer, nurseryman,
and in native habitat restoration. David's fascination with mushrooms
began while working on a farm during the winter of 2016. It was a wet
year and mushrooms were everywhere. He became obsessed with trying to
find, photograph, and identify mushrooms. He has been on the board of
the Sonoma County Mycological Association (SOMA) since 2021. He lives in
Cotati with his wife and 2 children.
