Join us at the library as we welcome Cole Thomason-Redus from the San Francisco Opera who will present an exploration of Black Voices in American Opera, highlighting influential artists like Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price. The presentation will also address the historical barriers faced by Black performers and the ongoing efforts for equity and inclusion within the opera world.

Cole Thomason-Redus, a fifth-generation San Franciscan and a proud product of San Francisco public schools, is now in his twenty-eighth year as a professional educator. Cole is currently the Curator and Scholar in Diversity, Equity, and Community at San Francisco Opera, Artistic Director of the Marin Girls Chorus, and an experienced educator and performer with a background in choral and instrumental composition.
