Join NorCal Bats Founder & Director, Corky Quirk, along with several live bats, for a very informative and awesome experience. Attendees will be able to sit and view up close these magnificent creatures, learn about what they eat and learn about their natural habitats in the wild.

NorCal Bats is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of bats throughout Northern California. In addition, we are committed to public education regarding the environmental benefits of bats, and dispelling fears and myths that lead to the death of roosts and colonies. Located in the Sacramento Valley, trained volunteers care for injured and orphaned bats throughout the valley and surrounding foothills.

Learn about these animals and their importance as insect control. Inform others and help protect our natural world. Dispel misconceptions and save these highly valuable mammals with education and rescue.

NorCal Bats strives to immerse the audience in an intimate view of a bats behavior, life choices and needs. Regardless of age, attendees find themselves connecting with living beings through empathy and awe, emerging inspired.

These are live, in-person presentations, which include:

  • An informative PowerPoint presentation about bats.
  • A discussion of the harmful myths that surround these animals.
  • Information about the importance of bats in our environment.
  • Live bats of California native species that are presented for viewing and discussion.

All bats are certified as non-releasable by the California Department of Fish & Wildlife and the U.S. Department of Agriculture—injury precludes them from surviving the wild. The live bat is projected, via movie camera, onto the wall for all attendees to view each live bat clearly.

NorCal Bats will remain after the presentation to answer questions. The presentation lasts approximately 45 minutes to one hour.
